Nicholls Auction Marketing Group recently completed the successful real estate auction of a 115 acre Christmas tree farm in Independence, VA. With over 116,000 Fraizer Fur Christmas trees, this event was marketed across the Christmas tree growers network nationwide. There were over 80 in attendance, over 6,000 internet hits, and many inquiries from several states.
The farm was owned and operated by Mr. Richard Woodie and his son, Robert of Sparta, NC. The Woodies were extremely pleased with the results of the extensive marketing efforts, and this was seen in the overwhelming response. After the trees and land were offered in several different combinations, the farm sold as a whole to remain a operational Christmas tree farm. After several minutes of spirited competitive bidding the final price came to rest at $1,017,500.
Kelly Strauss, auction coordinator, stated that "it is always so rewarding to work for and with quality people like the Woodies, and to see the successful culmination of several months work is a huge bonus."
